About

12-14-2014 cropped

Much has changed since the last time I updated my ‘about’ section here.  My life is largely about change, and I have learned to adapt to that.  Not without kicking and screaming at times, or at the very least, digging my heels in. 🙂  The last update was 3 years ago though, so it’s time.

If you were around before, you can see from the picture that I’m older.  That happens.  It’s normal, so don’t gasp too loudly and choke on your cheerios or anything. 🙂 My eyes and ears don’t work as well as they once did, I moan and groan when I move around a bit more, but I am incredibly blessed in the midst…and exceedingly thankful to God above.  He doesn’t seem to love me any less, and I cannot help but love Him more and more as the time passes along.

If you were here in the beginning, you know that I started this blog just for me to have a place to put my thoughts.  Sometimes it was random thoughts, sometimes poetry, sometimes I posted abstract art that I created with the wonder of photo shop.  Sometimes I ranted and raved, and other times I was more congenial…I hope mostly congenial.

Life got busy, I had many health issues that have occurred over the last several years.  But now, thankfully, they are under control.  Much to my disliking, I am a veritable pharmacy now.  I never even liked taking over the counter medication, but find myself having to be good and take a handful of various prescriptions a day now.  It’s okay though.  It’s better than the alternative, which was much pain and anguish.  I believe that God sometimes heals us through His own miraculous touch, and other times He does it through the skill of doctors.  Ultimately, we will all eventually reach our expiration date anyway.  No, I’m not being morbid.  It’s not morbid to speak of death when one knows that one’s expiration date is only for the shell on the outside.  My soul belongs securely to my Lord, and I look very forward to the day when I will meet him face to face.  Until then though, there is always blogging to help us get through it all. 🙂

Thank you very much for stopping in, and I hope you’ll visit often!

Love and blessings,

Anne

Thank you, Anne for popping over to The Ark’s spot. Although we probably have diametrically opposed theological views I hope you find a few things on my blog to make you think, smile and occasionally laugh. And it often pays to rememberthat this is cyberspace; one musn’t take things too seriously. 🙂

So true!! Thank you and I look forward to reading your blog. Just as a note…I actually have many good friends with whom I have some diametrically opposed views with. 🙂 I don’t mind, if you don’t!

Thank you Deborah! I think things are moving on an upswing now. I appreciate your prayers and look forward to reading your blog! Didn’t have enough time to read much of anything yet this morning, but I think beekeeping is so interesting, and loved the little bit I saw this morning. Thanks so much for your comment…and your prayers! 🙂

I love that you call God “Abba” 🙂 It’s really cool when I hear people refer to God with reverent names that aren’t as commonly used. I have a friend from the Bahamas that is an evangelist and she says “Papa” God. Keep doing what you are doing!

  7. Hi Anne,

Thanks for taking the time to follow my blog. I hope you will find it amusing, fun, instructional, positive, encouraging, and worth your time to read.

    Be encouraged!

    • Anne Sikes says:

I’m sure I will! I just glanced at it and thought it looked good. This has been a very big day of distractions for me it seems. 🙂 I look forward to having a chance to look further! And thank you for following mine as well Stephen! Blessings! Anne

Hey Anne, just thought I’d stop by and say hi 🙂 I haven’t talked to you for awhile and I just wanted to check up on you! I hope you’ve had a blessed day!

    • Anne Sikes says:

Hi Austin!! I’ve been missin’ you and Joey around here too. I’m behind on reading blogs though, so may have missed your latest ones. Getting ready to head to church here in a few, so will check later. You doing okay?

  15. Austin Coons says:

I’m doing great! I pray the Spirit moves powerfully with your church tonight!

    • Anne Sikes says:

It was good. The worship leader couldn’t be there, so Pastor Gordon played guitar and sang with a couple other people this time. He said he was nervous, but you couldn’t tell it. 🙂 Wednesday night study was on Numbers 3 tonight. We’re really blessed with a good pastor who can bring the scriptures to life, but my mind was drifting tonight…very unusual for me at this church…like NEVER happens. 🙂 Appreciate your prayers though, for my family and me. I’m not in a very good state of mind tonight…overwhelmed with some rough things going on.

Hi – I’d like to nominate you for the Thought Provoking Blog Award. I hope you will accept. If you pop over to my blog and check out my page Fluffy Moments, you will get the details.

    • Anne Sikes says:

Pat, thank you so much for thinking of me! I truly appreciate that! I have not been accepting the awards anymore for awhile now, and I hope very much that you’ll understand. But it still means a lot that you thought of me for this one. Blessings! –Anne

      • Pat says:

That’s perfectly OK. I’m never quite sure what to do about awards, usually break the rules, can’t download the badges and it takes me ages to do anything about them anyway (time!!!) but I hope you accept the compliment. 🙂

        • Anne Sikes says:

I very gratefully do, and congratulations to you too! And ha ha…you have described my dilemma as well. It takes me hours to do the things associated with an award. But as for changing the rules, I have some other friends who do that too, to keep it a little simpler. I have done it a couple times, but I admit…I am a bit OCD where rules are concerned. LOL…it was instilled in me early on to follow the rules. 🙂 Thanks and have a great day, Pat! 🙂

  33. Daniel says:
