Winner of the Name That Abstract 8 and new Poetry Challenge

There were several submissions this time for the Name That Abstract 8, and they were all terrific!  Timzauto has won it yet again, with a tie between two entries he submitted.  So for the new Poetry Challenge, you may choose between either one for your poem.  Please submit your poems in the comment section below.  If you post it on another blog, please include a link to this post.  It’s appreciated!  Thanks to all for your submissions, and congratulations to Tim, whose winning names with 5 votes each were Transcendental Cascada and Neptune’s Sunshine.

Again, you may choose either of those names for your poem, and voting is done by clicking on the thumbs up above each poem.  You will have a week, until next Wednesday at noon central, to enter your submissions.  I hope to see a lot of poems submitted!  Here is mine, as always to start you off. 🙂

Transcendental Cascada (Neptune’s Sunshine)
by Anne Sikes

Transcendental Cascada

Water falling,

Pouring down

Eyes wide,

Heart pounding

I watch

Fierce whirlpool

I close my eyes

Hush…just listen

Hypnotizing sound

Heart slows

Fear leaves

Soothing waterfall

Sweet peace

The new Name That Abstract will follow in a separate post.

  1. Neptune’s Sunshine

It is so big and bright.
The only time we do not see it
is about time it turns to night.

    Neptune’s Sunshine
    is a sight to behold
today I am feeling like it is all mine
but it’s not, I am being told.

  2. timzauto says:

    Neptune’s Sunshine

walking on sand on an early morning strand
ringing in my ears from the prior nights band
mind wonders on , days in full show
sand in my feet going into my toes
people rush in to cool in the waters
never thinking twice about what glitters
day turns to night , moonlight shows the shrine
the glare in the sand , that’s Neptune’s sunshine

  5. Transcendental Cascada

The Waters Fall with such a rush
    Upon the Rocks below
They care not where they crash
    They ripple and they flow
The sounds will carry o’er the land
    In forests near and far
A deafening roar, a loud hurrah
    The Transcendental Cascada.
