You Are Mine

I actually met David Haas once many years ago…not so he’d remember it though.  It was a brief encounter at a big church musicians’ conference in the twin cities years ago.  I have to say though, his music is some of the most beautiful Christian music out there.  I have played many of his beautiful compositions through the years and many of them are favorites of mine.

Here’s a beautiful one, and as I post this I’m thinking of a friend who is losing his battle with cancer and won’t be here with us much longer, and his wife and son.

It is, isn’t it? I used to play this one. But I had 4 volumes of the Glory and Praise series that’s used often in Catholic churches. (Still have them) They probably have more volumes now, not sure. But David Haas wrote a whole lot of the most popular music that was done. He wrote a song called “Blest Are They”, based on the Beatitudes. We used to do that all the time in a church I played for years ago. When my family was transferred and left there, all the choir members signed a copy of the music to give to me. Still have that too. 🙂
