As dear children

Ephesians 5

 1Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

 2And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

Though I am more than 50 years older now, that little 3 year old girl is still who I feel like when I go before God in prayer…my Abba.  The picture just above is what I look like now, taken last month with my eldest daughter.  It’s funny how we age on the outside through the years, and become jaded and cynical through life also in some ways.  Inside I still feel like that child in many ways though.  Still, you have to grow up, and “put away childish things”, as it talks about in the Bible (1 Cor. 13:11).  But the Bible also says…

Matthew 18:3-4

King James Version (KJV)

 3And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

 4Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

May I be more like the innocent little one who trusts her daddy to take care of her always, than the jaded, cynical, sometimes hardened older one, both as I go before the Lord, and as I go in humility through this life among others.

Love and blessings,

Anne
